Foles has thrown for one touchdown over last four games

Three months after giving Nick Foles a three-year contract, the St. Louis Rams have decided to bench him. Rams coach Jeff Fisher announced that Case Keenum will start at quarterback for the Rams at Baltimore this week.

Foles was 0-for-12 on passes thrown over 10 yards Sunday, which was the most attempts on such passes without a completion in the last 10 seasons, according to the Rams’ website. Fisher wasn’t making any promises about how long Keenum would start, but he clearly has the chance to keep the job. (NFL.com)

Nerdy Football Analysis: At this point, there are still two bright spots for the Rams regarding their acquisition of Foles: 1) they were able to get Philadelphia’s second-round pick in 2016 and 2) there is no more guaranteed money to pay Foles after this year despite the three-year extension, so they can move on easily if they choose to do so. Keenum doesn’t figure to be much of an upgrade, if at all, but is a better runner.
