Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel said Tua Tagovailoa is in the concussion protocol. Tua met with doctors today and told them he had some symptoms per McDaniel. (NFL Network – Cameron Wolfe)
Nerdy Football Analysis: Depending on one’s cynicism, one could say Tagovailoa has been concussed three times this year. However, the Week 3 blow to the head was considered a back issue before a Week 4 tackle gave him his first official concussion. Given the league’s heightened sensitivity to concussions following the handling of Tagovailoa’s issues earlier this season, it seems highly unlikely he will clear protocol in time for Week 17 versus the Patriots. Assuming that is the case, Teddy Bridgewater would likely draw the start.
