InjuryWill likely act as Kirk Cousins’ backup Sunday against Miami

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III has been cleared to return to the field, team president Bruce Allen announced Friday. Speaking on Washington’s WTOP radio, Allen said Griffin was cleared to play by an independent neurologist. Griffin suffered a concussion in the second week of the preseason. The Redskins announced in late August that Griffin had been cleared by an independent neurologist, but quickly rescinded the declaration, creating confusion about Griffin’s status. Since then, exact details on Griffin’s condition have been be sparse. The team has already announced it’s going with Kirk Cousins as its starter for the season opener against the Miami Dolphins. Now healthy, Griffin will presumably act as Cousins’ backup. (The Score)

Nerdy Football Analysis: Griffin is not worth owning in any formats. His lack of production the last two seasons combined with his proneness to injury make him irrelevant for fantasy purposes.
