Cap savings of $4.6 million

The Patriots have released wide receiver Brandon LaFell and tight end Scott Chandler. LaFell had one season left on his three-year deal. The team will carry $1 million in dead money for him. The team also takes a $1 million cap hit on Chandler. The cap savings between the two will be $4.6 million. (CSNNE.com)

Nerdy Football Analysis: LaFell played in 11 games last season, never scored a touchdown and never really made a fantasy impact outside of his 5-catch 102-yard performance in Week 9. The Patriots are left with Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola and Keshawn Martin as their top three wide receivers.
