Nearing end of recovery from summer ankle surgery

Nerdy Football Analysis: While Thomas is eligible to return now, there’s no way he would be allowed to play in Week 7 even if he was completely healthy; he has not knowingly practiced in roughly 10 months. A Week 8 return seems unlikely as well. It remains to be seen if his return is what allows HC Sean Payton to open up the offense a bit. In Thomas’ absence, the Saints have evolved into one of the slower and run-heavy offenses in the league incapable of supporting even one fantasy receiver on a weekly basis.
