RB injured knee in Week 17, TE set to return from ACL surgery
Despite limping off in Sunday’s fourth quarter, Chargers RB Melvin Gordon is expected to play Sunday against the Ravens, per source.
Chargers TE Hunter Henry, who tore his ACL during the off-season, also is expected to play Sunday against the Ravens, per source. (ESPN – Adam Schefter)
Nerdy Football Analysis: For the second time this season, Gordon got hurt on a needless play (Chargers knew they likely had nothing to gain from a win or loss when the injury happened). Fortunately, it appears they avoided a multi-week injury this time. The bigger story here is Henry, who tore his ACL in May. It’s hard imagining him being all that effective after returning to practice only two weeks ago and not playing a regular-season snap, but his presence could be a bit of a boost against a very good defense.
