Lions RB discussion
The Lions are going to give him (Ameer Abdullah) every chance to prove it as he begins training camp as the No. 1 running back on the roster. The Lions use a running-back-by-committee approach to their run game, but Abdullah is still expected to receive somewhere in the neighborhood of 200-plus carries as Detroit’s lead back. Nerdy Football Analysis: This of course all depends on Abdullah staying healthy something he wasn’t able to do last season, missing 14 games with a Lisfranc injury in his foot. With a low TD expectation and Theo Riddick expected to dominate third-down work, Abdullah’s ceiling figures to be an RB2.
