Broken collarbone for Texans WR Will Fuller

Fantasy Football, NFL News
August 2, 2017

InjurySurgery required, out indefinitely

Texans’ WR Will Fuller broke his collarbone today during practice, sources tell @sarahbarshop and me. Out indefinitely. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Nerdy Football Analysis: It’s tough to nail down a return date for Fuller but this injury could keep him out 2-3 months and will put him off the fantasy radar for the near future. Jaelen Strong will have an opportunity to jump into the No.2 wide receiver spot in camp with Braxton Miller holding down duties in the slot.

Titans add Eric Decker to receiving corps

One-year deal

The Tennessee Titans and former New York Jets wide receiver Eric Decker have reached agreement on a one-year deal, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Decker, 30, underwent hip and shoulder surgeries last fall, but he is healthy and had been practicing before his release by the Jets. (ESPN)

Nerdy Football Analysis: The Jets have been dumping high priced veterans all off-season and Decker was no exception. Coming off an injury-plagued 2016 season, Decker has been participating in drills and gives the Titans a veteran presence in their receiving corps with a track record of scoring touchdowns. Given the run-first philosophy in Tennessee it’s doubtful Decker can post WR1 stats as in did in New York back in 2015 (80-1027-12) but he can hold spotty WR2 value in an offense that should have no trouble moving the football in 2016.

Ravens land Jeremy Maclin

Two-year deal

Ravens and WR Jeremy Maclin agree to a two-year deal, per source. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Nerdy Football Analysis: The Ravens and Bills were the two teams pursuing Maclin after he was let go from the Chiefs last week. Both teams have holes in their receiving corps especially the Ravens as they lost Steve Smith to retirement. Maclin should be in the starting lineup opposite Mike Wallace with Breshad Perriman rounding out the top three.

Eric Decker on the way out of New York

Jets will trade or release him this week

And now the Jets are parting ways with WR Eric Decker, sources tell ESPN. Have told WR they either will release or trade him this week. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Nerdy Football Analysis: The free agent wide receiver market has certainly picked up some steam the last couple days. First Jeremy Maclin was released by the Chiefs on Friday and not it appears Decker will be on the move. The Jets will save $5.75 million against the cap. Decker is coming off a torn rotator cuff. His landing spot later this week will determine his fantasy value.
