WR John Brown not on injury report

InjuryFS Mathieu expected to be “ready to roll”

After missing the majority of August, Tyrann Mathieu and John Brown are noticeably absent from the Arizona Cardinals’ Week 1 injury report.

Returning from a December ACL tear, Mathieu sat out the entire preseason docket. Still, coach Bruce Arians has said he expects the 2015 All Pro to be “out there full speed, ready to roll” versus the New England Patriots on Sunday night. Arians doubled down over the weekend, adding that Mathieu will be available for “every single play” in the season opener. Brown’s return is trickier, as he was still feeling the effects of a July 31 concussion nearly a month later. On a positive note, he started the preseason finale and should be ready to play — even if it’s only in a limited role.

Nerdy Football Analysis: This is great news for anyone who took a chance on drafting John Brown over the weekend. Although he wasn’t on the injury report Wednesday there are still questions regarding how much action he could see in Week 1 so fantasy owners should remain patient and keep him benched. Meanwhile, Tyrann Mathieu is a full go for IDP leaguers.
