Paxton Lynch to remain backup for second straight year
Trevor Siemian won the Denver Broncos’ quarterback battle with his steady play. Broncos HC Vance Joseph named Siemian his starting quarterback at a news conference Monday, saying Siemian was the “clear-cut winner” in his duel with Paxton Lynch. (NFL.com – Kevin Patra)
Nerdy Football Analysis: Lynch was considered a project as a first-round pick in 2016 and he remains raw despite making strides this offseason. Siemian’s “win” is good news for Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders, as the former seventh-round pick is a steady veteran who can move the offense and won’t often put the Broncos’ vaunted defense into too many unfavorable positions. Siemian is a middling QB2 for fantasy purposes.
