Alfred Blue, Jonathan Grimes and Chris Polk will share workload
Without Arian Foster, the Texans’ running game has absorbed a major hit and will employ a committee approach of Alfred Blue, Chris Polk and Jonathan Grimes to try to assume some of Foster’s versatility and production. (Houston Chronicle)
Nerdy Football Analysis: When Foster was sidelined previously after undergoing groin surgery, Blue was the starter and had one big game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he flashed some vision and power.
“We’ve got to come together as a unit and have a good practice and come together for the Tennessee game,” Blue said. “It’s frustrating. We’re better than this.”
Blue is the Texans’ leading rusher with 234 yards and a touchdown on 60 carries and has averaged 3.9 yards per carry. He’s the best bet to assume the majority of carries, but both Grimes and Polk will get work in the passing game and in teh red zone.
