Atlanta Falcons HC Dan Quinn said Monday that Tevin Coleman has a fractured rib and declined to put a timetable on the running back’s return. Coleman’s return depends on his pain threshold, Quinn said.
While Quinn wouldn’t put a time frame on Coleman’s absence, the running back is expected to miss a couple of weeks. Coleman will sit out practices Wednesday and Thursday of this week, Quinn said.
Quinn said he does not anticipate signing another running back at this time. (ESPN)
Nerdy Football Analysis: Despite Quinn’s “anticipation” the Falcons will not add another back, it is likely they will; UDFA Terron Ward is the only other running back on the roster behind new starter Devonta Freeman. Atlanta expressed some interest in ex-Bronco Montee Ball earlier this month and could revisit signing him at some point this week.
