Nerdy Football Analysis: With Antonio Gates (suspension) already ruled out, Ladarius Green was expected to start the season as the starter. With Green entering concussion protocol, his status for Week 1 and beyond is now in serious doubt. David Johnson would presumably step into a larger role this weekend. Johnson, a seventh round draft pick in 2009, has been used sparingly over the past five seasons but did manage to snare a touchdown reception back in 2011. The team could also look to add another player via free agency or trade over the next few days.
