Rookie Sam Howell will be the backup

Nerdy Football Analysis: Carson Wentz injured his finger last week and may be put in IR. That decision will come later in the week. In the meantime, Heinicke will get some action against Green Bay in Week 7. The Packers have given up the fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks but have had an easy time of it against Justin Fields, Bailey Zappe and Daniel Jones. Still, Heinicke’s lack of talent keeps him on the QB2 list.
