Toby Gerhart was the first team running back at Jaguars practice Wednesday because rookie T.J. Yeldon missed practice with a groin injury.
Coach Gus Bradley didn’t seem sure if Yeldon would be ready to play Sunday against Houston.
“T.J. was out there for the walk through, but he didn’t go through any practice this afternoon,” Bradley said. (Jacksonville.com)
Nerdy Football Analysis: It’s looking iffy for T.J. Yeldon this week. Toby Gerhart ran with the first team Wednesday and he would step into more playing time should Yeldon be held out. Gerhart is healthier and is running better than he was last year, but Denard Robinson’s return to practice adds more uncertainty to this backfield. On the season, Jacksonville is averaging less than 100 rushing yards per game and has yet to notch a rushing touchdown. Only the adventurous deep league owner should wade into these waters.
