Giants running back Shane Vereen was present at practice Wednesday afternoon, just four days after he suffered a concussion. The Giants have not yet released Vereen’s participation status for the session, so it is unclear where he stands in the NFL’s concussion protocol. But his presence on the field is an encouraging sign for the team as they begin preparation for Sunday’s home game against the NFC North-leading Lions. (NJ.com)

Nerdy Football Analysis: Shane Vereen’s retun to practice this quickly is definitely a good sign of his progress within the concussion protocol. Despite Rashad Jennings’ role as the lead horse in New York’s backfield owners in PPR leagues may want to pay attention to status reports later in the week as Vereen fits in well with the high efficiency passing scheme being deployed by New York in recent weeks.
