Neck surgery in 2021
The Seahawks remain unclear if or when running back Chris Carson will be able to return after neck surgery late last year. And whether the Seahawks think he will be able to play in 2022 could impact how they approach the draft next week. They could take a running back as depth and competition, especially with Carson and Rashaad Penny under contract for only one more year.

Nerdy Football Analysis: Carson was limited to four games in 2021 and doesn’t appear to be a lock to return in 2022. For now, Rashaad Penny should be considered the most likely starting RB for Seattle but they could address the position in the upcoming draft.
