Comeback Player of the Year award in 2022
The #Seahawks and Pro Bowl QB Geno Smith are finalizing a new multi-year contract, sources tell me and @RapSheet.
Smith, 32, would’ve become a free agent. Instead, he’ll stay in Seattle, where he won the NFL Comeback Player of the Year last season. (Tom Pelissero on Twitter)
Nerdy Football Analysis: Smith parlayed his Comeback Player of the Year award into $52 million for 2023. Not bad for the 32 year-old journeyman quarterback who last had a steady starting gig back in 2014 with the Jets. Geno was one of only four quarterbacks to throw for at least 30 TDs in 2022 and should be a mid-round selection in fantasy drafts this Summer.
