Texans bench starting QB after one game

Nerdy Football Analysis: Brian Hoyer looked shaky against the Chiefs in Week 1 throwing a bad interception and completing just 53 percent of his passes. Mallett has yet to prove he’s a substantial upgrade over Hoyer but he’ll get an opportunity to prove just that against the Panthers. Mallett is a QB2 against Carolina.
