Only a few weeks ago, former Australian Rugby League player Jarryd Hayne was a blip on the NFL map. Predicted to bomb out in his rookie preseason with the San Francisco 49ers, Hayne instead has been doing everything right to assure him a final spot in the roster. Thursday night he did it again, running up the sideline before pummeling cornerback Lowell Rose. The move, known as a shoulder charge down under, has been banned in rugby league due to its dangerous nature. Hayne did more than just run over players, he also showed some nifty moves and agility to break off a big run. (SB Nation)
Nerdy Football Analysis: Hayne has amassed 175 rushing yards on 25 carries this preseason, good for an impressive 7.0 yards per carry. His inexperience playing football is going to limit any fantasy value he might otherwise have had, but he might be a name worth remembering should Carlos Hyde and Reggie Bush both prove ineffective.
