HC: “Has earned the right to start”
HC Bruce Arians says Ronald Jones has earned the right to start and play more snaps. Says Peyton Barber has done nothing wrong but Jones has been the most explosive back. (Buccaneers.com – Scott Smith)
Nerdy Football Analysis: While fantasy owners will take declarations like this whenever they can get them, it’s a bit sad that the Bucs waited until midway through the season to determine what was fairly obvious in the preseason: Jones is the better back at this point. With that said, Tampa Bay’s ability and commitment to the run has been inconsistent at best. Owners should view Jones as a decent flex option with RB2 upside, which he may be able to reach in Week 10 against the Cardinals.
