No surgery required for broken collarbone

The next game Tony Romo is eligible to start is on Nov. 22 against the Miami Dolphins.

The Dallas Cowboys placed their starting quarterback on the injured reserve/designated to return list on Tuesday, which will keep him out for the next eight weeks as he recovers from a broken left collarbone. Romo will not have surgery to repair the collarbone.

Nerdy Football Analysis: The Cowboys offense has suffered to major blows in the first two weeks of the season. Both Dez Bryant (foot) and Tony Romo (shoulder) will miss a significant portion of the season. Brandon Weeden will be the Cowboys starting QB until Romo can return. Without Bryant, Weeden’s fantasy value is in the QB2 tier.
