Seeing reps in “James White role”

Nerdy Football Analysis: This has been discussed off and on throughout the offseason, especially since Stevenson himself admitted this summer that his primary focus was improving in the passing game. White recently retired due to a hip injury, so his usual staffs are up for grabs. Ty Montgomery appears to have the lead in the race to replace White, but Stevenson would likely be a relatively strong RB2 option if he could beat him out. It appears New England is willing to give him that opportunity over the final two weeks of the preseason.
