Reggie Bush, who suffered a left calf strain in the San Francisco 49ers’ season-opening win against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night, will not travel with the team to Pittsburgh for Sunday’s game against the Steelers, Niners coach Jim Tomsula announced Friday. “We’re going to leave him back here, let him get the treatment,” Tomsula said. “Make sure it’s 100 percent before we move [forward with him] there. Feel great about it being 100 percent fast too.” Bush had not practiced this week but was seen walking without a limp in the team’s locker room Thursday. (ESPN)
Nerdy Football Analysis: Under the bright lights of Monday night football, Carlos Hyde showed that he’s a more than capable workhorse back, taking 26 totes for 168 yards and a pair of TDs. While Bush is out, Hyde should remain in line for 25-plus touches per game, and is always a must-start.
