$20 million in guarantees
Redskins are expected to sign WR Paul Richardson to a five-year, $40 million deal with $20 million in guarantees, sources say. (Mike Garafolo on Twitter)
Nerdy Football Analysis: The Redskins are notorious for failed moves in free agency, typically overspending in the process. It remains to be seen if the Richardson signing follows in the footsteps but it appears to be an overpayment unless Richardson becomes the number 2 receiving option in the offense. Josh Doctson, Jamison Crowder and oft-injured Jordan Reed are currently the top receiving threats for Alex Smith.
