Mostert’s agent announces trade request on Twitter
#49ers running back Raheem Mostert has requested a trade, according to his agent, Brett Tessler. After months of unproductive talks with the 49ers about fairly adjusting Raheem Mostert’s contract (which paid him for special teams) we have requested a trade. Disappointing that it would come to this for a guy who led all NFL RBs in YPC & helped lead them to the Super Bowl. (Matt Maiocco on Twitter)
Nerdy Football Analysis: Mostert played in 15 games last season finishing as the RB26 in PPR leagues. A key cog in the 49ers running game, Mostert split time with Tevin Coleman (RB39). It’s rumored that some accelerators in his contract were tied to “starts” and not production which may be the cause of some frustration as Mostert rarely “started” any games last season. The 49ers traded Matt Breida back in April to Miami.
