Bothered by ankle injuries for bulk of the season
RB Raheem Mostert is having further imaging done on his ankle, according to Kyle Shanahan. Shanahan said team will know more about that issue on Wednesday. (ESPN – Nick Wagoner)
Nerdy Football Analysis: Mostert’s last carry in Week 14 came with two minutes left. He didn’t appear to be in any noticeable pain at that point, so maybe this is precautionary. Nevertheless, it’s a concern for now. Jeff Wilson split snaps almost right down the middle with Mostert against Washington, so the former would presumably become a high-upside RB2 option in Week 15 against the sieve-like run defense of the Cowboys if Mostert cannot play.
