Foot injury
The Panthers have placed Cam Newton on injured reserve. From Marty Hurney: For the past seven weeks, Cam has diligently followed a program of rest and rehab and still is experiencing pain in his foot. He saw two foot specialists last week who agreed that he should continue that path prescribed by the team’s medical staff, and that it likely will take significant time for the injury to fully heal. We have said all along that it is impossible to put a timetable on this injury. Nobody is more frustrated with that fact than Cam. Nerdy Football Analysis: Newton played in only two games in 2019 and may be looking for another team in 2020. With age and injuries piling up the Panther could cut or trade Newton without a big hit to the salary cap. Kyle Allen is expected to continue to serve as the starting QB for the remainder of 2019.
