Well below threshold for avoiding outbreaks team facilities
The overall positivity rate for the NFL’s coronavirus testing program has been 0.46%, well below the threshold set this summer for avoiding outbreaks at team facilities. The 0.46% positivity rate includes all players, coaches and staffers. Through Tuesday, the league had conducted 109,075 COVID-19 tests. Sills said he was not aware of any “serious” illness for any league employee. (ESPN)
Nerdy Football Analysis: These are good data points and signs that the league, staff and players are currently doing what they can to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Daily testing will continue at least through September 5th. The NFL season gets going Thursday, September 10th.
