No appeal coming
Jameis Winston was suspended for the first three games of the 2018 season on Thursday, as the NFL said its investigation found the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback inappropriately touched a female Uber driver in March 2016 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Winston’s suspension is without pay and he won’t appeal. (ESPN)
Nerdy Football Analysis: Through a statement, Winston apologized to the driver, his teammates and noted he has eliminated alcohol from his life. The Bucs will likely move forward with Ryan Fitzpatrick as their starting in their first three games against the Saints, Eagles and Steelers. Winston is now relegated to a late-round draft pick in most redraft leagues.
