Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Julio Jones of the Atlanta Falcons were the two best wide receivers in the NFL last season from a fantasy football perspective, and both got off to great starts in 2015 with big games in their season openers.
Now the question is, who will have more NFL daily fantasy points in Week 2, Brown or Jones?
Brown hauled in nine receptions for 133 yards and scored a late touchdown against the New England Patriots in a 28-21 loss last Thursday. Meanwhile, Jones had nine catches for 141 yards and scored two touchdowns in a 26-24 win over the Philadelphia Eagles Monday night.
Jones won the head-to-head matchup last week, and he will face the New York Giants next as Brown meets the San Francisco 49ers Sunday. Both players are listed at odds of -120 at sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark.
This week’s running back matchup pits Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings versus Matt Forte of the Chicago Bears. Peterson is a +110 underdog after he had a disappointing performance with just 10 carries for 31 yards in a 20-3 road loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night.
Forte’s team also lost Sunday, falling to the Green Bay Packers 31-23, but he had a huge game with 24 carries for 141 yards and scored one touchdown to earn favorite status against Peterson at -150.
For quarterbacks, a pair of players favored to win this year’s league MVP will go against each other. Andrew Luck of the Indianapolis Colts will battle Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers in another pick’em matchup with each of them at -120.
Luck was the preseason favorite for the award but saw his team fall 27-14 on the road to the Buffalo Bills in Week 1. He completed 26 of 49 passes for 243 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions against the Bills and will test the New York Jets on Monday night.
Rodgers led his team to a win over the Bears despite a low passing-yardage total of 189, but he did throw three touchdown passes and will square off against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night.
