Injury occurs in final year of rookie deal
Marlon Mack’s worst fear has been confirmed. A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) test revealed the Indianapolis Colts’ feature running back suffered a torn right Achilles tendon in Sunday’s opening 27-20 loss at Jacksonville, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. Surgery is required, which will end his season and perhaps his career with the team. (Tom Pelissero on Twitter)
Nerdy Football Analysis: This was Mack’s final year of his rookie contract. Expect Jonathan Taylor to assume the bulk of the rushing duties for the Colts with Nyheim Hines mixed in. Both should excel in PPR leagues as Philip Rivers loves the dump-off pass to running backs.
