Must report by Wk10 to have season count towards free agency
The Chargers are beginning the season without running back Melvin Gordon, as one of their stars is still holding out. And the plan is for that to continue for some time. Sources say that Gordon, who missed training camp because of his desire for a new contract, is expected to report this season. But the current plan is to report in the window that spans from Week 6 through Week 8. (NFL.com)
Nerdy Football Analysis: We got the sense this pre-season that Gordon’s holdout could be a lengthy one as he and the Chargers have been dug in on their positions for some time. Gordon must report by Week 10 or he will lose a year of service time towards free agency. Gordon owners can continue to stash him on your bench but it appears he won’t be seeing the field until halfway through the season.
