Sustained knee ligament damage in third preseason game
Jaguars’ WR Marqise Lee is being placed on injured reserve today. He suffered knee ligament damage Saturday night vs Atlanta on a hit that some believe is related to NFL’s rules changes. Lee’s season is over. (ESPN – Adam Schefter)
Nerdy Football Analysis: A tough break to say the least for the Jaguars’ top receiver from a year ago. However, Jacksonville has the depth at the position to take the hit, as Keelan Cole likely moves into more of a primary pass-catching role in this offense – possibly giving him WR4 upside. This news also makes Dede Westbrook a player worth stashing in fantasy as a WR4/5. Donte Moncrief projected to be more of a red zone weapon before Lee’s injury and may only see a minimal bump as a result of his absence.
