KC set to ink RB two days after his release from Jets
The Kansas City Chiefs added some potential punch to their running game Thursday as veteran back Le’Veon Bell told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler he intends to sign with the defending Super Bowl champions.
Bell, who was released by the New York Jets earlier this week, will sign a one-year contract, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. (ESPN – Adam Teicher)
Nerdy Football Analysis: Bell will be ineligible to play in Week 6 against the Bills due to COVID-19 protocols, leaving Week 7 as his likely debut with the Chiefs. It’s a big blow to the fantasy value of Clyde Edwards-Helaire, although the rookie should still be expected to lead the backfield in touches. CEH probably needs to be treated as a mid-range RB2 now, while Bell should be considered as a flex with huge upside.
