InjuryFoot injury; still on track for Week 1 vs. Houston

Jacksonville Jaguars fans will have to wait at least another week to catch Leonard Fournette in game action again. Jaguars HC Doug Marrone announced Monday that the fourth-overall pick will be among the players who won’t suit up for Thursday’s preseason contest against the Carolina Panthers. Fournette sat out last week’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because of a foot injury. Fournette told reporters last week he could have played against the Bucs if it were necessary and said he was confident he’d be ready to roll by the Jags’ Sept. 10 season opener against the Houston Texans. Nerdy Football Analysis: Fournette is almost certain not to play in the preseason finale, so owners will have to base their opinion of him on his college resume and 12 snaps during the exhibition season. At the moment, Jacksonville’s offense looks to be an unmitigated disaster, and it will be up to Fournette to make it at least a bit respectable. Volume will be on his side, but he needs to be treated as a high-upside RB2 for fantasy purposes instead of the low-end RB1 he is being drafted as this summer.
