Decision to come off IR “not up to him”
Kerryon Johnson said he “hopes to” play Sunday against Denver, which would mean coming off injured reserve. Said that decision is not up to him. But said he’s been getting stronger by the week. (ESPN – Michael Rothstein)
Nerdy Football Analysis: Oners that were either patients enough to hold Johnson or had the room to stash him could be rewarded with a player who could be in line for 15-18 touches. However, the matchup with the Broncos is not an ideal one, nor was Johnson overly productive when the offense was healthy. The Lions currently have David Blough starting at quarterback, further lowering Johnson’s floor and ceiling.
