Injury to the plantar fascia in his right foot
Following yesterday’s practice, Justin Herbert was diagnosed with an injury to the plantar fascia in his right foot.
Doctors have recommended approximately two weeks in a boot – followed by a graduated return to play protocol – with the expectation that he will be ready for the start of the regular season. (Chargers on X)
Nerdy Football Analysis: This isn’t great, especially when you’re trying to get acclimated to a new offense and coaching staff. Herbert has already had his fantasy expectations lowered as the Chargers figure to be a run-heavy team under Jim Harbaugh. This injury won’t help his cause for being anything more than mid-range QB2. More practice reps for Easton Stick incoming.
