Browns get conditional 5th round pick
Trade now agreed to: Patriots are sending Cleveland a 5th-round pick and if Josh Gordon isn’t active for 10 games, Patriots get back a late-round pick from Browns, sources tell ESPN. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
Nerdy Football Analysis: We learned over the weekend that Gordon was going to be released or traded by the Browns. The Pats will get a 2019 7th round pick if Gordon isn’t active for 10 games. Gordon’s “hamstring injury” is apparently healed enough to play in Week 3. The impact Gordon will have moving forward is debatable. The Pats have been searching since the pre-season for a difference maker that position but it’s often difficult for receivers to fully grasp an offense on short notice. Gordon can be viewed as a WR3 once he’s able to play a full complement of snaps.
