InjuryLimped noticeably after suffering Achilles’ injury in Week 10

RB Jordan Howard on Thursday clarified what his playing status was during Sunday’s loss to the Buccaneers. “I was just tight early in…the second half. Then I injured my Achilles a little bit at the end. I’m good now.” After Howard lost a fumble at the 5:37 mark of the second quarter, he played four more snaps before noticeably limping on a fake handoff in the third quarter. Then he played sporadically during the remainder of the 36-10 loss, finishing with 100 yards on 15 carries. (Chicago Tribune)

Nerdy Football Analysis: Howard’s response to HC John Fox’s post-game assertion that his back was hurt was “Nah, I ain’t suffer nothing.” Classic. The rookie is one of the few things going well for the hapless Bears, but Achilles’ injuries are no joke. Owners need to strongly consider adding Jeremy Langford in the meantime, as it is quite likely Chicago relies even more on the running game with Alshon Jeffery starting his four-game PED suspension this week.
