Patriots get 2021 sixth-round pick

One day after coach Adam Gase’s public criticism of the team, the New York Jets traded for wide receiver Demaryius Thomas and changed kickers for the third time since training camp — a mini-shake-up that sends a message to the locker room. The Jets acquired Thomas from the New England Patriots for a 2021 sixth-round pick, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. (ESPN)

Nerdy Football Analysis: So, you trade a pick to your division rival for an aging wide receiver coming off an Achilles injury? Interesting. The Patriots cut Thomas on final cut-down day then brought him back at a reduced cost. He was expendable given the acquisition of Antonio Brown. This moves doesn’t do much for Thomas’ fantasy value. The only receivers to consider in New York are Jamison Crowder and Robby Anderson.
