One-year deal

Denver reached an agreement with former Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles on a one-year contract Tuesday after he met with team officials and underwent a physical. The deal includes a $900,000 base salary, a $100,000 workout bonus, plus 46-man active roster bonuses and incentives that make it worth up to $3.75 million, according to two NFL sources. Nerdy Football Analysis: Charles has dealt with multiple knee injuries over the last two years including an ACL tear. If healthy, he can give the Broncos a jolt of speed and quickness, something they lacked in the running game last season. Charles will fight for carries with C.J. Anderson and Devontae Booker but a likely scenario is Anderson and Charles splitting carries as long as the two remain healthy.
