"Good chance" Paxton Lynch starts finale

Broncos eliminated from playoffs Week 16

With the exception of the most recent game at Kansas City ? his only clunker of the season ? Trevor Siemian earned the Denver Broncos’ No. 1 quarterback job, one of the most exalted positions in all of sports. But first-round draft pick Paxton Lynch has to start this Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.

And there’s a good chance he will, even if Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak wasn’t ready to make such a pronouncement Monday, a few hours after returning from his team’s embarrassing Christmas Night performance in Kansas City. (9News)

Nerdy Football Analysis: Kubiak can be excused for not making up his mind yet after the Broncos got back to Denver early Monday morning, but it makes too much sense to give their first-rounder another chance to start in what amounts to a meaningless game for them this weekend. With that said, Lynch has struggled mightily in his limited action, so the Oakland Raiders D/ST makes for a solid play in DFS or Week 17 championships.
