Atlanta releases 11-year veteran

The Falcons released wide receiver Roddy White, the franchise’s all-time leading receiver on Wednesday. White, who was selected by the Falcons in the first-round (27th overall) of the 2005 NFL draft from Alabama-Birmingham, after a slow start developed into the franchise’s most prolific receiver during the league’s evolution into more of a passing league. Nerdy Football Analysis: In an offense that featured running back Devonta Freeman and Julio Jones, White saw his targets dip to 69 in 2016, his lowest target total since 2006. At 34, White should be able to land a gig as No.3 receiver but his days as a premiere fantasy option are over.
