InjuryQB to return to lineup following shoulder injury

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees will start on Sunday after successfully testing his injured right shoulder in practice this week, coach Sean Payton said after Friday’s practice. “I think he’s planning on starting and we’re planning on starting him,” Payton said. “He looked crisp today. I think he’s going to end up starting and based on the way the week unfolded each day, I felt like he’s made the progress we’re looking for.” Payton said Brees did not have a torn rotator cuff. “The diagnosis was never a tear,” he said. Nerdy Football Analysis: The Saints are looking to chalk up their first victory in 2015, and are hoping for better from Brees than they’ve received thus far. He’ll be in tough against the Cowboys’ stingy defense. It’s worth noting that over his last two meetings with Dallas, he’s amassed 732 passing yards and six touchdowns, but both performances came with Jimmy Graham in the lineup.
