D’Onta Foreman “light years” ahead of 2018

RB more than 1 1/2 removed from Achilles injury

D’Onta Foreman ended last season with an uncertain future caused by his lengthy recovery from a torn Achilles suffered as a rookie. Now, Foreman has erased a lot of doubt and the former third-round draft pick is back in the Texans’ good graces after getting healthy and in the best shape of his life this spring and summer.

“He’s light-years ahead of where he was last year at this time, coming off the injury and everything,” Texans running backs coach Danny Barrett said. “I still think he’s continuing to work hard. I think he’s had a good offseason to date. The time away from here, I thought was well spent for himself.” (Houston Chronicle – Aaron Wilson)

Nerdy Football Analysis: If we assume Foreman can return to the form he showed as a rookie, it’s perfectly reasonable to believe he could push Lamar Miller and end up forcing a split backfield. At the very least, he would appear to be the favorite for goal-line work in a high-scoring offense. If the offseason reports prove to be accurate about Foreman, he is a strong candidate to beat his current 9.04 ADP in PPR leagues.
