Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Week 6: Last-Minute Fantasy Football Advice for Sunday

Knowing who to start and who to leave on the bench in fantasy football is already the most difficult of tasks, but the arrival of bye weeks only makes the job even tougher.

Only four teams are on a bye for Week 6, but it includes teams flush with fantasy playmakers. On top of that, injuries and inconsistent play bring up more questions as to which players are worth rolling the dice on.

With all of that in mind, let’s take one last stab at start ’em, sit ’em entering Week 6.

Start: Lamar Miller, RB, Tennessee Titans

The Miami Dolphins’ putrid start to the season has had its impact on Lamar Miller, but the featured back should begin to see his production expand as the team turns a new leaf with a new head coach.

The Tennessee Titans have done well against opposing rushers this season, but they haven’t really faced any dangerous backs. Giving up 4.4 yards per rush this season, Tennessee will have issues dealing with Miller as it schemes largely to slow down Ryan Tannehill.

Sit: John Brown, WR, Arizona Cardinals

Sure, the Arizona Cardinals offense has been dynamic and unstoppable so far this season. But it hasn’t exactly brought another breakout season fantasy-wise from John Brown, who is proving to be among the most inconsistent of Arizona’s weapons.

In Brown’s 22 career NFL games, he’s topped the 75-yard plateau only one time, and his touchdowns typically only come on big plays. Well, the Pittsburgh Steelers have allowed nine plays of 20 or more yards through the air this season, the lowest tally in the league.

Start: Donte Moncrief, WR, Indianapolis Colts

Donte Moncrief‘s early-season fantasy proficiency seemed like a concrete thing, especially with him emerging despite the Colts’ offensive struggles. He’s taken a back seat in recent weeks, but a return of his signal-caller will change that.

Andrew Luck is set to return, as owner Jim Irsay told Mike Wells of ESPN that Luck is expected to start Sunday for the first time since Week 3. He connected with touchdowns to Moncrief in each of his three starts this season and should make it four in a high-scoring affair against the New England Patriots.

Sit: Charles Clay, TE, Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills tight end has gotten some good news in the injury department, as he’s been listed as probable. But the same can’t be said of his quarterback, as Tyrod Taylor is questionable for Sunday. If EJ Manuel gets the ball for Buffalo, it’s hard to see Clay putting up his usual production.

He’s coming off a dud performance in Week 5 against Tennessee, and the Cincinnati Bengals haven’t allowed a touchdown pass from a tight end all season.

Start: Anquan Boldin, WR, San Francisco 49ers

There’s no question who has emerged as Colin Kaepernick‘s favorite target so far in 2015. That’s Anquan Boldin, whose 37 targets are well over Torrey Smith‘s tally of 19 through five weeks of the season.

What’s more, Boldin is coming off a 107-yard performance with a touchdown last week. He’s facing his former team in the Baltimore Ravens, and we all saw what Andre Johnson did to the Houston Texans in a similar spot last Thursday night.

Sit: Jarvis Landry, WR, Miami Dolphins

A return to prominence can be expected from Miami’s run game, but don’t think the same will happen to the passing game and Jarvis Landry.

He may generate a ton of targets that make him relevant in PPR formats, but the Titans have allowed only 447 yards to opposing receivers this season—lowest total in the league, per ESPN.com. Don’t expect Landry to make it to pay dirt for the first time this season, and until he does, it’s hard to find consistent starting value from him.
