Foster to be back "sooner than later"

InjurySchefter: Could return in four, may be sidelined for six or more weeks

When Arian Foster went in for groin surgery, there were reports that he could miss the first half of the regular season while he recovered. The Texans haven’t used their IR-return spot on Foster yet, however, and it doesn’t sound like they think they’ll need to avail themselves of that option.

“Arian is doing well, relative to the injury he has and the prognosis early on,” HC Bill O’Brien said, via the team. “He’s ahead of that. Again, like I always say to people, I reserve the right to change my mind. … I think he’ll be back sooner rather than later based on the early prognosis.” (Pro Football Talk)

Nerdy Football Analysis: O’Brien non-update “update” doesn’t help fantasy owners, while Adam Schefter’s tweet essentially backs up the timeline most owners have been expecting. At this point, it would probably be wise for all parties involved to expect a return around Week 6. In the interim, Alfred Blue should serve as the lead back against a highly-favorable run schedule. Chris Polk and Jonathan Grimes also figure to see a handful of touches in relief of Blue.
