<div>Drew Brees, Marques Colston, Ben Watson's Post-Week 8 Fantasy Advice</div>

Drew Brees must have dressed up as Oprah Winfrey for Halloween.

You get a touchdown, and you get a touchdown, and you get a touchdown…” you could practically hear him saying as he torched the New York Giants secondary time and time again on Sunday. Brees was on fire, posting season-high totals for passing yards and touchdowns.

It was the sort of breakout performance his fantasy owners have been waiting for, as the star quarterback exceeded 20 fantasy points in standard-scoring leagues just once. Brees had thrown for 300 yards or more yards four times coming into the game, but a lack of touchdowns has been bringing him down. That was no longer a worry on Sunday.

His inconsistency makes him a low-end QB1 going forward, but Sunday’s performance could be the sort of breakout performance he needed to get himself going.

Marques Colston had a breakout performance of his own, finishing with over 100 receiving yards for the first time this season and finally nabbing a touchdown catch—his first. That’s the issue with trusting Colston going forward, however—in his previous three games, he had all of 75 receiving yards.

Brees isn’t afraid to utilize his full array of weapons, and Colston simply isn’t the dynamic wideout he once was in his younger years. Sunday was an aberration, and the 32-year-old can’t be trusted going forward.

Benjamin Watson, on the other hand, is starting to feel legit. He now has nine or more fantasy points in three of the past four weeks and gives Brees a big target over the middle to somewhat replicate the role Jimmy Graham once played for the team.

Watson is still risky—his production in most weeks will be tied to whether he scores a touchdown, as he’s exceeded 100 receiving yards just twice this season—but he’s absolutely a player worth owning and can be given spot starts depending on the matchup going forward.
