Cowboys "appear" to be leaning toward Randle at RB

Team maintains it feels good about its backfield

Joseph Randle has spent two years behind DeMarco Murray, who has since signed with the Eagles. In spot-duty last year, Randle rushed for 343 yards on 51 carries, with a team-best 6.7 yards per carry.

Darren McFadden echoed the same sentiments. Right now, it appears the Cowboys are leaning toward Randle as the starter, but McFadden knows a thing or two about splitting carries, having done it at both Arkansas and with the Raiders the last seven years. (DallasCowboys.com)

Nerdy Football Analysis: Stay tuned. This is a story that has experienced twists and turns just this week and it seems like the only thing for sure is that Lance Dunbar will be the third-down back. Randle appears to be the leader in the clubhouse, but expect the Cowboys to rotate him and McFadden frequently over the course of the year until one man steps up or gets injured. Given Randle’s off-field exploits and McFadden’s injury history, Christine Michael needs to be on fantasy rosters as well.
